Resit candidates take the same exams as students sitting the qualification for the first time. There is no separate summer timetable for resits.

- First exams: OxfordAQA Chemistry on 27 April and Maths on 29 April; Edexcel Maths A on 14 May.

The Edexcel dates come from Pearson's final Summer 2027 International GCSE timetable, and the OxfordAQA dates from its confirmed May/June 2027 timetable (version 1.2, September 2026). Edexcel sessions are shown as morning (AM) or afternoon (PM); all OxfordAQA exams have a published start time of 08:00 UK time.

The Edexcel dates come from Pearson's 2026/27 key dates, and the OxfordAQA dates from its 2026/27 key dates calendar. OxfordAQA's March deadline is later than in previous years, following its 2027 changes.

Edexcel's deadline depends on whether your exam centre is classed as a UK or an international centre. Your nationality does not decide which deadline applies.

These are board deadlines. Schools and exam centres set earlier booking deadlines of their own to collect candidate details, take payment and submit entries. If you are a private candidate, contact your centre well before February.

OxfordAQA's results day is earlier than in previous summers. Edexcel International GCSE results come out on the same day as UK GCSE results. Resit candidates get their results on the same day as everyone else in the summer series.

How to prepare for your IGCSE resit
A resit gives you another chance to show what you know. The most useful preparation starts with finding out why you lost marks last time.
1. Set a specific target
Write down the grade you need and why you need it.
Example
"I need a grade 5 in Maths for my college course. My revision will focus first on securing the questions I can answer consistently."

2. Find your biggest sources of lost marks

- Review the specific gaps.
- Retry the questions later without the solutions.

4. Plan around your first paper
Your revision deadline is your first exam, not the start of May or June.

5. Use the gap between papers carefully
Between papers, focus on errors from practice, difficult topics and staying confident.
Tip
Avoid spending the whole gap trying to reconstruct the exam you have already taken. Your remaining paper is where you can still earn marks.

No. Resit candidates take the scheduled papers for their qualification alongside students taking it for the first time.
